Aston Martin Unveils Its Fastest and Most Powerful SUV: The New 717bhp DBX S

by Grace

Aston Martin has revealed the DBX S, a new version of its high-performance SUV that takes the already powerful DBX707 to the next level. With a 4.0-litre biturbo V8 engine, the DBX S outshines its predecessor, becoming the most powerful DBX model available today.

The engine, sourced from AMG, benefits from enhancements inspired by Aston’s upcoming Valhalla supercar, including larger compressor wheels and other internal improvements. These upgrades boost the power to 717bhp, an increase from the DBX707’s 697bhp. Torque remains at 663lb ft, providing significant power at higher revs. The DBX S can accelerate from 0-62mph in just 3.3 seconds, a notable improvement, while maintaining a top speed of 193mph.

Aston Martin has also improved the exhaust system to amplify the V8 engine’s distinctive sound, which now has more character and presence. The nine-speed ‘wet clutch’ automatic gearbox and 4WD setup ensure a more aggressive driving experience, providing better performance and handling.

The DBX S also benefits from a weight reduction, shedding 47kg compared to the DBX707. This is partly due to a carbon fibre roof, the largest ever fitted to an Aston Martin, saving 18kg. The lower roof improves the vehicle’s centre of gravity, and optional 23-inch magnesium wheels reduce the weight further by 19kg, enhancing ride quality, steering precision, and feel.

The DBX S is designed for better handling, with a four percent faster steering ratio and a reduced turning circle of 12 meters. It also retains the updated suspension and carbon ceramic brakes from last year’s model, featuring 420mm front and 390mm rear discs.

Visually, the DBX S is a standout, with a black-vaned grille, new front splitter and diffuser, side air splitters, a reprofiled rear bumper, and stacked exhaust pipes, giving it a more aggressive appearance.

Inside, the DBX S features S badging, Alcantara upholstery (with leather options available), Aston Martin’s latest infotainment system, and a powerful 800-watt stereo.

Aston Martin’s Chief Executive, Adrian Hallmark, commented, “The introduction of the DBX S reaffirms our commitment to producing the most exciting, rewarding, and beautiful cars, while also signaling our ambitions for both the DBX and the Aston Martin brand as a whole.”

The DBX S is priced at £210,000, making it a high-performance luxury SUV with a commanding presence.
