German luxury automaker BMW called for integrity and responsibility online at the 2025 China Internet Civilization Conference. The event took place from Tuesday to Wednesday in Hefei, Anhui province. BMW was the first major foreign carmaker to join this important forum.
Sean Green, president and CEO of BMW Group Region China, said, “True innovation requires lasting responsibility. Sustainable technology must always serve the greater good.”
He added, “With over 100 years of history, we know that a company’s value goes beyond profits. It must be based on accountability and trust. When promoting digital civility, we stand for respect, integrity, and responsibility.”
BMW was one of the headline speakers at the conference. Their participation highlighted the company’s strong dedication to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and digital ethics.
Li Yao, chief data governance officer at BMW Brilliance Automotive, stressed that digital transformation and CSR go hand in hand. “BMW integrates internet ecosystems into its core social responsibility efforts,” Li said.
