The 2026 Kia EV4 is an all-new electric compact sedan, and it’s making an early impression with its bold, eye-catching front-end design. Ahead of its arrival in the U.S., we had the chance to take the EV4 for a drive in South Korea.
During the test, we drove the front-wheel-drive version, which is powered by a single electric motor delivering 201 horsepower. While this is the only configuration currently available, Kia has plans to expand the lineup. Future models will include dual-motor, all-wheel-drive variants for buyers looking for more performance and traction.
One standout feature of the EV4 is its ride quality. Despite the uneven road surfaces in parts of Seoul, the EV4 handled them smoothly. Its suspension tuning delivers above-average comfort for a compact EV, making it a strong contender in its class.
Kia will offer the EV4 with two different battery options. The base Light trim will feature a 58-kWh battery, while the more premium Wind and GT-Line trims will come with a larger 81-kWh battery. This variety ensures that drivers can choose a model that best fits their driving needs and budget.
With its futuristic styling and promising performance, the 2026 Kia EV4 is poised to be a compelling choice in the growing electric sedan market.
