BMW and Deus Ex Machina Turn the CE 02 Into a Wild Mobile DJ Bike

by Grace

BMW Motorrad, known for its cutting-edge motorcycles like the R 12 S and M 1000 RR, has revealed a bold new version of its all-electric CE 02. This unique bike isn’t just about getting from point A to B—it’s also a mobile DJ booth on two wheels. Unfortunately, you’ll never be able to buy it.

The eye-catching concept is the result of a creative partnership between BMW and Deus Ex Machina, an Australian lifestyle brand with roots in motorcycle customization, fashion, and music culture. This version of the CE 02—officially called the BMW Motorrad x Deus—was designed for music lovers who ride and riders who love to entertain.

A Bike That Spins More Than Wheels
The BMW Motorrad x Deus CE 02 is equipped with a custom leather seat, four compact Marshall speakers, and a foldable DJ turntable. It’s aimed at creative spirits who dream of spinning music while riding the coastline—picture rolling up to Santa Monica pier and throwing an impromptu summer set.

Although this customized CE 02 won’t go on sale, BMW is touring it around France. It will appear at several BMW Motorrad dealerships and Deus Ex Machina stores throughout the country, offering fans a closer look at this fusion of mobility and music.

Inspiration for Electric Bike Owners
Even though this special edition won’t hit production, it may spark ideas for CE 02 owners looking to personalize their own rides. Its design shows just how far electric scooters can be pushed creatively—especially in the hands of world-class customizers like Deus.

The Production CE 02: Affordable and Functional
While the Deus model stays exclusive, the standard BMW CE 02 is already available in the U.S. for $7,599. It straddles the line between a scooter and a motorcycle and is powered by a single electric motor. Buyers can choose between two versions: a 5-horsepower entry-level model and a more powerful 15-hp variant.

The stronger version accelerates from 0 to 30 mph (48 km/h) in 3 seconds. Its top speed reaches 59 mph (95 km/h). Two lithium-ion batteries deliver a total of 1.96 kWh, enough for a range of about 59 miles (95 km). Charging is relatively quick, too—a fast charger can bring the battery from 0 to 80% in just 180 minutes.

That means you can enjoy lunch while your bike powers up for your next ride—or your next gig.
