by Grace

Audi customer teams scored impressive victories across multiple continents in late May, with successes in GT3, GT4, and TCR competitions. From North America to Europe and Asia, Audi drivers showcased their talents, securing overall wins and podium finishes in various prestigious racing events.

Audi R8 LMS GT3: Victories in America and Italy

In the United States, Memo Gidley achieved the first victory for SKI Autosports with the Audi R8 LMS in the GT America powered by AWS racing series. Gidley started in second place at Sebring’s fourth event, quickly overtaking the pole-sitting BMW. Despite a five-second penalty due to a pre-race technical infringement, Gidley fought back to win the 40-minute race by just 0.364 seconds ahead of BMW driver Justin Rothberg. Gidley also finished second in the second race of the event.

In Europe, Team Haas RT triumphed at the 12h Misano, part of the 24H European Series, with an Audi R8 LMS. Drivers Peter Guelinckx, Matisse Lismont, and Jef Machiels completed 416 laps to win by nearly a minute, repeating their success from the previous year. Juta Racing also celebrated, taking victory in the GT3-Am class with drivers Arunas Geciauskas, Nicola Michelon, and Tim Müller finishing fourth overall.

At the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup in Zandvoort, Audi teams excelled. Saintéloc Racing’s Gilles Magnus and Paul Evrard finished fourth overall, while winning the Gold classification. In the Silver Cup, Tresor Attempto Racing’s Alex Aka and Ezequiel Perez Companc led their Audi R8 LMS to victory, finishing 3.4 seconds ahead of a Mercedes-AMG. Other notable performances included Ivan Klymenko and Lorens Lecertua, who finished second in the Silver Cup after a strong finish in the second race.

Audi R8 LMS Successes at Nürburgring and Other Competitions

In the 24h Nürburgring Qualifiers, Juta Racing’s Audi R8 LMS placed second in the Pro-Am class in the first race. The équipe vitesse team also earned a podium finish in the SP 9 amateur category. Scherer Sport Phx made a strong debut in the ADAC GT Masters, with Denis Bulatov and Nico Hantke finishing second in the team’s Audi R8 LMS.

At the Campionato Italiano GT Sprint, Tresor Attempto Racing continued to impress, securing podium results in multiple categories, including third place in the Pro class and a class win for Alberto Clementi Pisani and Marco Cassarà in the GT3 amateur category.

Audi RS 3 LMS (TCR): European Triumphs

In the TCR Europe, Audi customer team Clairet Sport extended their winning streak. Teddy Clairet took his first win of the season in Spa, Belgium, finishing nine seconds ahead of his brother Jimmy, who finished second. Teddy Clairet now leads the overall standings, while Clairet Sport sits 57 points ahead of Cupra’s Monlau Motorsport in the team rankings.

In TCR Italy, Audi drivers also dominated. Nicolas Taylor secured his second win of the season at Vallelunga, maintaining his lead in the overall standings, while Nicola Baldan earned a pair of second-place finishes. In the Masters classification, Denis Babuin won twice to extend his lead.

Audi R8 LMS GT4: European Victory in Zandvoort

In the GT4 European Series, Team Speedcar secured their second victory of the season. Robert Consani and Benjamin Lariche triumphed in the second race at Zandvoort, finishing 2.4 seconds ahead of the competition. The French team also achieved a podium result in the first race, with Consani and Lariche just 0.431 seconds shy of victory. With this win, they now lead the Silver standings by 13 points.

Upcoming Races

Several key races are scheduled for the coming weeks, including the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup at Monza, the GT World Challenge Asia at Buriram, and the GT4 Australia round in Queensland. Audi teams will also compete in events such as the TCR Eastern Europe at Salzburgring and the Super Taikyu Series at Fuji.
