Audi Unveils New Q3 with Micro-LED Headlights and Powerful Hybrid Engine

by Grace

Audi has revealed its latest Q3 crossover, introducing micro-LED headlights for the first time in its lineup. This new lighting system uses a special DMD module made of tiny mirrors. It can control light very precisely and project important information directly onto the road in front of the driver. For example, it can warn of icy patches or alert about unsafe lane changes.

Each headlight contains many modules with 25,600 micro-LEDs packed into a small space only 13 millimeters wide. Each micro-LED is just 40 micrometers long. This design delivers brighter and sharper lighting than before.

Inside, the new Audi Q3 features a modern cabin with two connected screens that wrap around the driver. The transmission joystick is placed on the right side under the steering wheel, similar to other recent vehicles from the Volkswagen Group.

Hybrid Powertrain Leads the Range

The new Q3 offers several engine options. The most powerful is the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) called the e-hybrid. It pairs a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor to produce 200 kW (272 horsepower). The hybrid model has a 25.7 kWh battery, with 19.7 kWh usable capacity, allowing up to 119 kilometers of electric-only driving.

Besides the hybrid, buyers can also choose traditional petrol and diesel engines.
